Ready for Vacation but no end in sight!

Hello peeps! Sorry it's been really crazy here the last week and in fact tonight is my last night of on-call. I am so very happy about that. The on-call part hasn't been too terribly bad. I had a long night on Thursday but outside of that it's been an average of one call per night. Not too bad. Last time it was an average of two calls per night. So I suppose things are improving.

The big problem started on Thursday, I had to beg and plead with my doctor for some antibiotics. Rather than giving me what I asked for he called in something that worked for me in the past. I was rather happy with it then so it wasn't too much of a surprise when I picked it up. Turns out I found out a day later that I am allergic to it.

I sware my body is trying to kill me. I broke out in hives (just a few) and my penis of all things was fire engine red, slightly swollen and it hurt & itched at the same time. I made it through Friday and said that if things persisted that Saturday I would be going to the hospital.

Saturday I did in fact spend the afternoon at the hospital. They were quite surprised to see me. Since Friday I developed a nice big spot on my butt and a couple more hives popped up on my back. There was no relief for my penis, which was the overall major issue here. So they pumped me full of drugs to help calm things down. I got drowsy and dozed off a bit and then it was just a whole lot of waiting. I had to beg and plead to get out, telling them I had to be at work, since it was a couple hours before I went on call. Neither me or my partner had anything to eat all day and we were both hungry. That worked!

After we departed the hospital, we went to a local Italian restaurant and scarfed down some major food. I had a salad and lasagna. He had a salad and the pork chop dinner. They asked us if we wanted desert and we both declined. We were stuffed and short on time.

My partner drove like a mad man to get me home and then he went to the pharmacy to get my steroid prescription filled (the hospital gave me that to help out with the hives). So I made it home and I was zonked out. The rushing part and the drugs they had given me, man alive I just wanted to curl up. Then I got my filled prescription after doing some house work and popped 6 pills in me and within an hour I had this over whelming desire to work, work, work!

I got a call from one of our high maintenance users and had to do some simple stuff for him. It was quick and a little painful but I made it. Then I went back up to watch TV.

The whole time I was thinking of my penis and how I was still in discomfort and probably wouldn't be able to give it the work out that I usually do. I noticed that some skin started to bubble up on top. I was playing with that and then part of that ripped open. That wasn't the painful part at all. It was went I went to wash it and water hit the fresh skin underneath, holy cow I almost went to the floor. It was horribly painful. I learned my lesson leave it alone!

At the moment it still hurts but looks a bit better. The fresh skin is oozing a bit of clear liquid, hopefully it will toughen up in a couple days. I got no guidance on what to put on it or how to take care of it. So if things don't clear up quickly, I will have to go see the doc and that won't be easy or cheap! Speaking of which, I am sure I will have quite the bill from the hospital. They had me on monitors to make sure that I didn't stop breathing, that won't be cheap at all.

Sunday (today) was the most productive day of the whole weekend. I am finishing up laundry. I've cleaned out my underwear drawer. Walked two cats, gone cat food and people food shopping. We have been out for a bite to eat this morning. Got the mail and mailed some mail. Cleaned off my desk from a weeks worth of mail and generally trying to put my life back on the normal track.

I am way behind on blog reading and imagine it will take me more than a few days to play catch up, but rest assured I will catch up. I can't promise that I will be spending a lot of time in front of the computer, given the past week and well the fact that computers are pretty much my life. It's always good to take a break.

It was nice having an extra hour this weekend but I sware with everything going on it was like it didn't even register with me. I've updated the few clocks that need adjusting and we are forging ahead. I just wish I was able to go on vacation, this past week has been quite the mental workout!
