3 Minute Car Wash

I would go to that car wash, heck I’d even walk there.  Who needs a car when you have so many hot guys!  Makes me wish I worked at Andrew Christian.  I hope you enjoyed the video.

Winter has arrived here!  Plenty of cold weather, ice, snow and lots of wind.  It’s been a hell of a day to be a Public Servant or a Tow Truck Driver.  There isn’t much of the white powder on the ground but what little there is has caused many of problems and injuries.  Were in for more over night.

Today was the visit to the other hearing aid place.  Well, we took off with no phone number or address for the place.  That is something that never happens when we head to a new place.  However, someone (my partner) thought they knew where it was.  Guess what it wasn’t where he thought it was.  He had me driving in circles because he was positive it had to be at the place we were.  Then I used my phone, couldn’t find the place on the internet.  Next came the $2 call to 411 and they didn’t have any record of the place either.  Then I called my brother and he used the phone book & computer, still no luck.  So I was told drive around to a service station.  Well service stations went out with high button shoes.  We have gas stations.  Turns out there wasn’t one of those in sight either.  However, I did find a Walgreens so he went into use the phone book.  Meanwhile I stayed warm in the truck and used my phone and Google directions.  Turns out he remembered a street of where the place was.  I put that in and gave the Google app permission to use our current location.  He came back with no results.  I showed him the phone and he watched it as I drove.  The damn thing took us to the front door of the place.  I didn’t know my phone was that smart.  To think we almost gave up.

The test took a couple minutes and some of his responses had the Doctor laughing.  We talked about what to get.  He almost wound up with a clam shell until I spoke up and said what about all of your complaints.  Turns out he will be getting a device that has a tiny tube that fits in his ear and the microphone fits behind the ear.  It’s small and when it’s on it’s stealth.  I couldn’t see it at all.  We go back in about 3 weeks to pick them up.  I can’t wait, then I can stop shouting and maybe we can have the TV at a decent volume.  I hope he likes these better than the last ones.

The partner was up early making Chicken Stew.  It’s chicken cut up, with chicken broth, celery, veggies and potatoes in a pressure cooker.  He loves it.  I think it’s just okay.  It was marvelous when he first made it for me years ago.  However, he took those left overs to work (when he was working) and they weren’t properly stored.  Thus food poisoning on Thanksgiving Day.  We spent the day together in the Emergency Room.  So that is the story of why I don’t care much for it.  He had this for supper.

I had left over Sloppy Joes.  They were really good and I washed them all down with a Diet Dr. Pepper.  Then followed desert which was a nap on the couch with two cats, one of them woke me up after 20 minutes.  So you can say I had a cat nap or is that a cat scan?  Either way it hit the spot.

Another slightly active but boring day.  On the job hunt…I see a spike in my leads f this week compared to the last several weeks.  That is a good thing, but now I need calls for interviews.  I also wrote a place that I had interviewed at last year.  They were dragging there feet in getting back to me.  Turns out they chose someone else, no surprise to me.  However, they are doing me a favor and holding on to my resume for 2 years.  I guess they liked me, just not well enough to hire me.

My brother is getting scam responses asking him to submit his credit report to verify his identity and another response asked him to visit a 3rd party website to authenticate him.  Then install a tool from the site and e-mail back a confirmation number.  He felt they all were scams but asked me to confirm.  I told him yep, don’t touch them.  The first one is clearly a blatant attempt for identity theft.  The second was obviously an attempt to install malicious software on his machine.  I told him go with your gut, if you think it’s fishy then it probably is.  These are typical results when applying for jobs from Craigslist.  While I haven’t experienced this we are in two different fields.

When your down on your luck, without a job and trying to get employment there are people to take advantage of you.  Identity Theft, Malicious Software, Tricking you into signing up to further your education, trying to sell you stuff you don’t need or want, etc.  Now more than ever you have to be on guard when you apply for a job. It’s not like it was 5 or even 10 years ago, when it was safer.  As time moves forward it’s only going to get worse.

Tomorrow’s adventure will be our supper trip that I agreed to.  Were going to a VFW for Fish & Chicken.  I get the Chicken and complain every time because they don’t have Ranch Dressing.  This time we picked up a packet at the grocery store.  I really don’t like the place it’s a small hike from home and lots of people, but since I am not working we can go extra early and avoid the crowd.  They do have out of this world potato salad.  Unless something else comes up, this should be our only trip out.

As of now nothing planned for Saturday or Sunday.  Perhaps we can stay in and just enjoy looking outside at the snow. The cats are enjoying it but don’t seem to understand why it’s so cold by the windows.  It’s funny to watch their faces light up as the wind starts to blow and the snow is flying.  One of them was trying to jump for flakes.

That’s it for my blathering today.  Since it will most likely be Friday or thereafter when you read this, I wish you all a great weekend!

I hope the hearing aids work well, my hubby is waiting to get his back (fixed up) and if they don't work I'm going to have to toss his OVERLY LOUD TV out the window, LOL!

We're in for real winter weather finally too... come Sunday. Snow and COLD, which we haven't had as of yet to speak of. Stay warm Jer, and enjoy the weekend!
