This morning I got a call from a recruiter who left me a voice mail message but started talking way before the beep. All I got was a thanks bye. I wonder how many people this person has placed? I mean it’s 2012 and answering machines & voice mail have been around for years. If you don’t know how to use either of them by now, then your pretty well up a creek!
With the Monday holiday (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) there was a delay in job postings showing up on-line. Thankfully, tonight I was able to spend 2 full hours applying for work. I applied at a couple top notch places and feel pretty good tonight. Compared to how I felt yesterday and today that is a very good thing.
My partner went to the doctor today. He got some medicine changed around, was told he needs calcium to help increase his fingernail strength and he’s being changed to Uloric for his Gout. His hands and feet are horrible with the stuff. His foot doctor isn’t that happy so I suggested to ask about a change, turns out what he was taking was good but Uloric is super expensive and a little better. There will be a marginal improvement.
Since there was no mail yesterday we stopped today before heading to the doctor. My rewards card for Macaroni Grill was in, so we ate there afterwards. I used to love this place but the menu has changed multiple times and the food just isn’t as good as it used to be. We spent all $55 and the card was good for $50. The meal cost me $10 with the balance and tip, not bad at all. Just wish the food would have been better.
It’s the middle of January and if you can believe it I had to run the AC yesterday because the house got up to 89 degrees. Today it’s in the 30’s but yesterday was in the 60’s. Very strange weather! We even had a Tornado Watch last night and heavy storms rolled in around 2AM. It woke me and the boys up. They were worried but I told them go back to bed, you will be fine. That’s what I did and all was well this morning.
Nothing is planned or scheduled for the rest of the week. We need to visit the grocery store and probably the pet food store. Outside of that the next major event is next Tuesday when my partner goes to the foot doctor. Hopefully the phone will ring and I will have an interview or two lined up. That would be nice!
The heat is back on here and were doing our best to stay toasty warm. Not much else to say other than it’s a boring life. Can’t wait until I can complain about waking up early or working late. I’d like to have a job lined up this month but my goal is by Valentines Day. That would be a real sweetheart of a deal! Stay tuned and I will keep you posted.
